Jelloshot, a down-on-his-luck plasmoid living in a ramshackle Thieves Quarter upstairs apartment with only a 3 legged chair to his name, is told by his downstairs neighbor (and landlord) Old Man Havor that some woman left a package for him on the back steps. Inside was a strange letter:

We are aware of your background and notoriety, and are also aware of the skills you possess. We are also aware of some things you are not, including the fact that others have also taken note of your activities, others that hold particular ire for your activities. We would like to extend an offer to “wipe the slate clean”, in a manner of speaking.

If you would like to accept our offer and learn more, you’ll need to pass a test. Gather some skilled compatriots and await our next contact. You’ll probably want a few skills covered, such as stealth, magic, and equipment.

579 CY, Earthday, Readying

Jelloshot has decided to put together a team to help him with whatever he's about to be tasked with. He heads to The Chef's Kiss where he meets Darnelius Tinderdate, L'moa Langriss, and Gleblex. While they converse, a halfling runs by and drops a letter at their table and runs off. The letter is from a Dr. Cassee Dannell, a name Gleblex recognizes. The letter asks the party to meet her at the Sage's Quill.

The party heads there, meets Dr. Dannell, and discusses the job of stealing the Murkmire Stone from the Varkenbluff Museum of Natural History.

She needs the group to steal the egg for her, as her attempts have failed
The egg is indestructible, but she can contain and cause the egg to go inert
She believes the egg contains the spawn of a dangerous creature, and believes it is likely to hatch the night after next (Freeday night)
The egg will be on display Freeday evening in the gemstone wing of the museum
She will meet the party with more information in the morning
