Session 8

The party departs from the Bumpin' Pumpkin bound for Gleblex's tinkerer's shop. 

On the way, while discussing how much money they have on them right now, they are overheard by some bandits who seem to have crossed over from the Thieve's or Slum quarter. The bandits ask for our heroes to share some of their gold, but the request quickly becomes a demand backed by force. They attack!

The party is able to overcome the bandits, with Jelloshot ensuring that Alsbach stays standing and Darnelious tapping into his inner darkness and murdering two of the bandits, one of which being a very old man. The other two bandits are left unconscious on the ground and the party makes their escape through a side street.

Upon arriving at Gleblex's shop, the party observes him being escorted away by soldiers of the City Watch. After he's gone, Darnelius disguises himself and enters Gleb's shop to ask his kobold assistant some questions. He learns that Gleblex was arrested for not properly following tax and import law when bring in magical items into the city, and will be sentenced to some time in the city's prison.

Later that evening, Darnelius heads back to the Bumpin' Pumpkin to meet with Chandelyn for their date. However, she is distraught over the very recent untimely demise of her grandfather, who was found killed on a city street earlier today along with another person. She informs him that they won't be able to have their date tonight as she needs to be with her family, but perhaps another time.

Alsbach, having followed Darnelius to the tavern, inquires about how the date went. Darnelius, having not quite put two and two together, lays out what he knows to Alsbach, who instantly understands that Darnelius has in fact murdered the grandfather of the girl he was set to go on a date with. After a laugh at Darnelius's expense, the two return to their homes/places of stay, and we close on that evening.
